Innovate and Building New Feeding System
In order to ensure the stability of production, saving cost and increasing profit for the company, the ironmaking raw material section has taken the lead in integrating the department and the maintenance centre. It took about 3 months to build a new discharge material belt on the east side of the belt corridor at 3# transfer station. Besides, it improves the iron making raw material supply system.
Until recently, the raw materials for iron making have been fed through 1# pit, and then transported via J2 or K2 belts. However, this supply system is powered by the sinter section. Once the power is cut off, the coke, lump ore, and pellets will not be able to load, resulting in tight supply. In addition, due to the small space of the unloading bunker, all raw materials need to be transported from the yard. In order to solve this problem, the iron-making raw material section decided to build a new discharge material belt that can supply materials to the elevated coke line and mine line on the east side of the belt corridor at 3# transfer station after conduct some research and discussion.
The construction was launched from 28 June until 17 August.During this time, maintenance team leader Zhang Lei and section head Meng Qingdong was taking the lead to organize the construction. Although there are only few manpower and insufficient materials; they were still overcome various difficulties. They picked up angle steel, channel steel, old steel tiles, and old iron plates from the waste pile on the north side of the steelmaking plant, and reuse the waste to become the material of belt racks and corridors. During the annual maintenance in September, a security power supply was set up to connect with the cables in the iron-making charging voltage room. If there is a power failure in the sinter section, the security power supply can be switched immediately so that the feeding system will no longer be shut down due to the power failure of the sinter section.
The newly installed discharge material belt not only relieves the pressure of loading in the original pit, now all kinds of raw materials can be directly fed to the blast furnace from the bunker, reducing the cost of about RM3.50 per ton of transport fee from the material yard. In addition to stable production, cost reduction and efficiency increase were successfully achieved.
