• In March 2024, Eastern Steel Achieves Historic High
in Iron and Steel Production Once Again

Production and Technical Department bring us good news again. The production of iron has achieved 195,797.69 tons and the steel slabs has achieved 200,062.15 tons in March. Both were broke the production record in December 2023 and also achieve the historical highest of ESSB once again!

Ironmaking Department has taken multiple measures to increase the production of molten iron. 1# blast furnace ensures stable operation throughout the month by properly adjusting the proportion of purchased coke, refining internal and external operations. Building upon smooth operation, 1# blast furnace gradually increased the oxygen enrichment rate, reaching an average of 4.56% for the entire month, laying a solid foundation for overproduction.2# blast furnace experienced low top temperature, prompting intensified control and smelting operations. By elevating the sinter ore temperature, increasing the burden ratio, and appropriately enhancing peripheral airflow within the furnace, the furnace top temperature was maintained above 120°C. Consequently, the smelting intensity of the blast furnace gradually increased, resulting in a significant boost in production.

Steelmaking Department was focusing on stabilizing blast oxygen furnace operations to lay the groundwork for increased production. Firstly, it strengthens the main smelting operations in the three shifts, improves close coordination and cooperation among various positions above and below the furnace as well as in front and behind the furnace, closely monitors the furnace smelting cycle target, and keeps the single-furnace smelting time within 30 minutes. Secondly, through the diligent implementation of shift rotations for specialized inspectors and equipment post-inspections, conditions have been established for promptly identifying and eliminating equipment hazards. Thirdly, by enhancing the planned maintenance of equipment, equipment defects have been eliminated, avoiding the risk of under-maintenance. The production operation rate has remained unaffected by equipment accidents for 5 consecutive months, laying the foundation for increased steel production.

In the future, the company will continue to unleash production capacity to increase efficiency. Firstly, with the stability of blast furnace operation as the core, efforts will be made to improve the stability of raw material quality entering the furnace, ensuring stable of furnace top temperature with stable dry material entering the furnace as the basis, gradually increasing the oxygen content in the blast furnace to enhance smelting intensity and increase production. Secondly, the steelmaking department will motivate employees through competitions and evaluations, focusing on enhancing operational skills of personnel in various positions. Furthermore, leveraging new technologies and intelligent manufacturing, the department will create a favorable environment for efficient and smooth production operations.
